Wheelchair ball driver.
OBJECT OF THE INVENTION
The present invention falls within the technical field of wheelchair accessories, as well as that of ball launching devices, and refers in particular to a mechanical device for driving a ball simulating horizontal or parabolic shots, attachable in wheelchairs to allow people with reduced mobility to practice soccer.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
Paralympic sports, that is, those adapted for people with different disabilities, cover an increasing number of disciplines, and among them is one of the most practiced and followed sports worldwide, such as football.
Motorized chair soccer has great popularity and even has its own federation, known as the International Federation of Electric Chair Soccer Associations (FIPFA). This sport is practiced in basketball courts of standard size, between two teams with 5 players each. According to the rules of the aforementioned FIPFA, players are required to use an electric chair with 4 or more wheels, and the maximum speed allowed during a match is 10 km / h Players must wear a safety belt and foot protection , and the ball used is similar to a soccer ball but with a larger size, with a diameter of 33 cm.
In the current state of the art, devices that can be attached to wheelchairs are known to simulate shots of a ball made with the foot, although they do not contemplate the possibility of making different types of shots (straight as in a direct kick, parabolic simulating a volley, etc.).
DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
The ball-driving device, attachable in all types of wheelchairs, allows the practice of soccer to disabled people with a higher level of precision, being able to control the type of shot that is made, being able to be this horizontal or parabolic. In a preferred embodiment, the device comprises a pair of independent and symmetrical mechanisms with respect to a longitudinal plane passing through the center of the wheelchair. The mechanisms of this device are attached on a base that can be attached to the lower part of the front face of the chair.
Each of the constituent mechanisms of the device comprises a manually operated lever that can be moved in a position selector to determine the type of shot to be made. Said lever compresses or expands, by means of a movement transmission mechanism, an elastic element, which is preferably a spring or spring. The contraction or expansion of said elastic element causes the displacement in one direction or another of a driving element to which it is linked.
The driving element has in turn linked to a thrust support to drive the ball, whose movement is therefore determined by that of the driving element, which in turn is governed by the positioning of the lever in the position selector.
The mechanism additionally comprises a system capable of transforming the direction of the movement from rectilinear to curved. To do this, a roller linked to the driving element travels inside a glutton that has a straight section and a curved section, in which said curved section has in turn a descending sector and an ascending sector, and in the that he

straight section is connected by its ends to the ends of the curved section. The positioning of said roller in one section or another of the glutton is determined by the position of the operating lever in the position selector.
Starting from an initial position, in which the actuation lever is at rest and the elastic element, in this case the spring, is expanded, the displacement of said lever towards the horizontal or parabolic shot position puts It compresses said spring by accumulating mechanical energy and activates the mechanism.
When the user disengages the lever from the horizontal or parabolic shot position in the position selector, preferably by turning said lever, the transmission mechanism releases the spring from the elastic element, which instantly recovers its resting position. Consequently, the accumulated energy is released in the form of a rectilinear movement to the driving element, which according to the positioning of the roller in the glutton, determined by the initial position of the operating lever in the position selector, maintains that movement to obtain a shot. rectilinear or transform it to make a parabolic shot.
Thus, in the case where the lever is located in the horizontal shooting position, the roller of the impeller element moves in the rectilinear section of the glutton, whereby said impeller element is moved by a rectilinear movement, displacing in turn to the driving element, which hits the ball by a rectilinear impulse so that a horizontal shot is obtained.
When the lever is located in the parabolic pull position in the position selector, the roller moves in the curved section of the glutton. The route along the descending sector of said section determines a downward movement of the driving element, and therefore of the thrust support, which surrounds the lower surface of the ball, while the route along the ascending section causes the upward thrust of the ball contained by the push support, so that a parallel shot is obtained from the combination of both movements.
The device as! described is coupled to a wheelchair, preferably of the type of those specifically designed for sports, without providing an overweight such that compromises its lightness, and is a simple and easily manageable mechanism that allows more precise and varied shots, improving User experience in sports practice.
DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

PREFERRED EMBODIMENT OF THE INVENTION
Next, a detailed explanation of an example of preferred embodiment of the object of the present invention is provided with the aid of the aforementioned figures.
The wheelchair driving device described above comprises at least one mechanism (1), of which a side view of a longitudinal section is shown in Figure 3 in its resting position. Said mechanism (1) in turn comprises a drive lever (2), manually operated by the user, whose movement is transmitted, through a transmission mechanism (3), to an elastic element (4) to which it is located linked. Said elastic element (4) has the ability to compress or expand depending on the movement exerted by the user on the lever (2), and is linked to a driving element (5).
In the preferred embodiment shown in Figures 1 to 8, the transmission mechanism (3) comprises a cable that connects the operating lever (2) with the elastic element (4), with additional pulleys (6) located at different heights and around which the cable slides, while the elastic element (4) comprises a piston-like mechanism, with a spring (7) movable inside a cylinder (8), and the driving element (5) comprises a articulated shaft
Said drive element (5) moves according to the contraction and expansion movements of the elastic element (4), which as indicated are in turn governed by the movement of the operating lever (2) by the user. The driving element (5) is additionally linked to a thrust support (9), with curved configuration as shown in Figures 1 and 2, intended to drive a ball (10).
The mechanism (1) additionally comprises a glutton (11) with a straight section (12) and a curved section (13), inside which a roller (14) linked to the driving element (5) moves. In this way, when the roller (14) moves in the straight section (12) of the glutton (11), the driving element (5) moves in a straight way, while if said roller (14) moves in the curved section (13), the driving element (5) moves in a curved direction.
Said curved section (13) consists in turn of a first sector with descending curvature and a second sector with ascending curvature, and the straight section (12) is connected at its ends to the ends of the curved section (13).
It is contemplated that the operating lever (2) moves between the different positions of a position selector (15), and that at least the elastic element (4) and the glutton (11) of the mechanism (1) are supported by a frame (16), formed by the union of two parallel panels (17, 17 '), in which the frame (16) has a coupling base (18) with

fixing means for coupling to a wheelchair. With this configuration, the device incorporates two guides (11, 11 '), one for each panel (17, 17'), and two rollers (14,14 ') linked to the drive element (5), which move through said guides (11, 11 ').
In the case where the user wishes to obtain a horizontal shot, he must first move the operating lever (2) to fix it in a corresponding slot with a first rest position of the position selector (15), as shown in figure 4. Said positioning of the actuation lever (2) causes a shift of the transmission mechanism cable (3) which in turn compresses the spring (7) into the cylinder (8) of the elastic element (4) .
The displacement of the spring (7) towards a compression state in turn causes the displacement of the driving element (5), whose roller (14) displaces in the straight section (12) of the guide (11).
At the moment in which the shot is desired, the user removes the operating lever (2) from the slot of the position selector (15), which at that time moves until it recovers its initial rest position, shown in the figure 3. Said movement of the actuating lever (2), shown in Figure 5, is due to the recovery of the position of the spring (7), to which it is connected by the transmission mechanism (3).
This recovery of the position of the spring (7) of the elastic element (4) in turn drives the impeller element (5), with a straight movement that is conserved by the movement of the roller (14) inside the straight section (12) of the guide (11), being transmitted to the thrust support (9), which drives the ball (10) with a horizontal shot.
When the user wishes to make a parabolic shot, he must first move the actuation lever (2) to fix it in a corresponding slot with a second rest position of the position selector (15), as shown in Figure 6 As indicated in the case of horizontal shooting, the positioning of the operating lever (2) displaces the transmission mechanism cable (3) and compresses the spring (7) into the cylinder (8).
On the other hand, the driving element (5) moves to a position in which its roller (14) moves within the curved section (13) of the guide (11).
To carry out the trip, the user removes the operating lever (2) from the corresponding slot with the second position, at which time the spring (7) recovers its initial rest position as indicated in the case of the straight shot. In this case, the recovery path of the spring (7) pushes the driving element (5), and consequently the thrust support (9) in a first downward travel, corresponding to the roller travel (14) in the sector of descending curvature of the curved section (13) of the guide (11), as shown in figure 7. In this first path, therefore, the thrust support (9) descends to accommodate the ball (10).
The final section of the spring recovery path (7) until it returns to its resting position coincides with the one that runs the roller (14) in the sector of ascending curvature of the curved section (13) of the guide (11), as shown in figure 8. On this second path, the thrust support (9) drives the ball (10), which was supported in its structure, by a parabolic shot.
In the preferred embodiment, the wheelchair ball drive device comprises two mechanisms (1, 1 ') coupled to a wheelchair by the coupling base (18), both mechanisms (1, 1') being symmetrical with each other. with respect to a longitudinal plane passing through the center of the wheelchair as shown in figure 1.
